As we close out 2024, it’s time for another update on Submit’s progress. While we’ve made strides in improving communication within the platform, we know we can do more to share our journey with everyone. This post is a chance to reflect on the milestones we’ve hit, the lessons we’ve learned, and the exciting changes ahead as we continue building a space that prioritizes privacy, safety, and inclusivity for the BDSM, fetish, and kink communities.
Our recent updates have been all about enhancing how you connect and engage within the Submit community. Whether you’re creating intimate spaces with Circles, celebrating consent-driven Relationships, or participating in Events, these features are designed to give you the tools to shape your experience and build the connections that matter most.
Major Features Released:
In addition to these major releases, we regularly update and improve our existing features and roll out smaller ones on at least a weekly basis, if not more frequently. Over the last couple months, we’ve also made some major improvements to our infrastructure to improve performance, reliability, and security.
Submit has grown to over 150,000 accounts, with an average of 10,000 actively engaged over the past week. Many of these accounts were created during our early development stages, before Submit had most of its current features. Now that we’ve evolved into a fully functioning social network, we’re reaching out to inactive accounts, encouraging users to rediscover everything that’s been built since they first signed up.
We’re proud of the steady growth and engagement we’re seeing across the platform. Here’s a snapshot of some of our recent metrics:
These numbers reflect a healthy balance of active user engagement, new user onboarding, and growing interest. We’re particularly excited by the 5% week-over-week increase in active accounts, signaling that our features are resonating with the community.
In line with our commitment to authenticity, we’ve launched a new Transparency Section, where we’ll share quarterly analytics reports with detailed breakdowns of platform activity. This public-facing effort ensures that you’re always in the loop about how Submit is growing and evolving. The first analytics report will be available in January 2025, giving you an in-depth look at our metrics and progress.
One of our key focuses for the remainder of 2024 is ensuring that features like Explore and other areas of Submit drive better engagement and discoverability. This is part of our commitment to creating more opportunities for both new and returning users to connect with the community.
To maintain authenticity, we’ll begin sending inactivity notices later this year, giving users a chance to re-engage. No accounts will be deactivated or deleted until January 2025, and users will also gain the ability to deactivate their own accounts, ensuring greater control over their account status.
Our goal is to keep Submit an active, authentic space. In the future, we’d much rather say, “We have 1.1 million users, and 90% of them were active this month,” than rely on inflated numbers full of inactive accounts.
From day one, we built Submit as a platform dedicated to protecting your privacy and data. This commitment has guided nearly every decision we make, and it’s more important now than ever. We’ll continue investing in your privacy and digital safety to ensure that your data is never used to silence, track, or oppress you.
Submit will always be a place where you can freely be yourself, express who you are, and do so without fear of attack, oppression, or hate. Our commitment to stand with our community is global, and applies to each and every one of you.
In the coming weeks and months, we’ll be adding new privacy controls, expanding options for anonymizing your access and data, partnering with trusted VPN providers, and publishing guides to help you better protect your information. We’re also accelerating work on educational tools to create resource hubs for individuals and communities in need across the globe.
We’re revisiting our approach to end-to-end encrypted messaging as well, exploring ways to bring this forward and further enhance privacy on Submit.
The future remains uncertain, and we’re all navigating uncharted waters together. But know this: Submit stands with our community. We’ll continue fighting for your privacy, your right to choose, your right to gender-affirming care, your freedom of speech, your right to be treated with respect, and the truth.
