We kicked off 2025 with a bang, rolling out significant updates and new features over the past two months. With a focus on improving discoverability, boosting engagement, and growing our community, we’re already seeing the impact of these changes. This year, we’re committed to continuing this momentum, and we’re excited to share what we’ve accomplished so far. Let’s take a look at the highlights!
The waitlist has been an important tool in helping us manage growth authentically. It’s allowed us to focus on improving our anti-bot and evasion technology while ensuring we grow at a pace that our infrastructure can handle. However, for all the benefits the waitlist brings, it still is an obstacle that slows our growth.
That’s why we’re proud to share that as of the first week of March, the waitlist is officially gone. This marks a major milestone for Submit—one that reflects not just the platform’s stability, but also our confidence in the systems we’ve built to keep our community safe. By removing the waitlist, we’re making it easier than ever for new members to join, connect, and explore, without compromising on the privacy, security, and authenticity that define Submit.
While the waitlist helped us lay a strong foundation, our focus now shifts to sustaining meaningful growth. We’ll continue refining our moderation tools, improving discoverability, and ensuring that new members can find their place in the community. If you’ve been waiting to invite friends, now is the perfect time.
In the first two weeks of January, we introduced the Everyone Feed—a simple, unfiltered, chronological feed of all posts and activity shared with the “Everyone” audience. There are no algorithms, no suggestions, and no filters—just a real-time look at everything that members have chosen to share publicly. If you post with an audience of “Everyone,” your content is automatically included in this feed, making it easier for others to discover and engage with what you share.
The Everyone Feed has been a key part of our efforts to boost engagement and improve discoverability. By offering a completely open way to browse Submit, we’ve made it easier to see what’s happening across the platform in real time. That said, this feed is an experiment. As Submit continues to grow, we expect that an unfiltered global feed may eventually become too overwhelming to be a comfortable way to explore the platform. We’re keeping a close eye on how it evolves and are actively exploring ways to refine discovery without compromising transparency.
For now, the Everyone Feed is here, and we’re excited to see how the community uses it. If you’d like to share your thoughts or ideas on how we can improve it in the future, join the discussion in the Submit Development group!
At the start of January, we launched Achievements, a new system that lets members earn and showcase milestones based on their activity on Submit. Whether it’s engaging with the community, participating in events, or other actions, achievements add a fun and rewarding way to track your journey on the platform. This initial release introduced the core functionality, and we have plenty more planned to expand and enhance this system in the future.
That said, we know that not everyone is interested in earning achievements or engaging with this kind of feature. Your experience on Submit should be shaped by you, which is why, in the coming weeks, we’ll be introducing an option to disable the achievements system entirely. Whether you want to collect and display your achievements or opt out completely, the choice is yours.
This is just the beginning for Achievements, and we’re excited to see how the community engages with it as we continue to build on the system. If you have thoughts, feedback, or ideas, we’d love to hear them in the Submit Development group.
Earlier this year, we released our first Quarterly Analytics Report, marking a significant step in our commitment to transparency. This report provides a breakdown of key platform metrics, including user activity and demographic insights, giving our community a clearer view of how Submit is growing and evolving.
Our goal is to make these reports even more comprehensive over time. Each quarter, we’ll continue adding new data and refining the insights we share, ensuring that our community has access to meaningful and relevant information about the platform. We’re already excited about some of the new metrics we’ll be introducing in the next report, and we can’t wait to share them with you.
Transparency is core to our values, and these reports are just one of the ways we’re keeping Submit open and accountable. To explore our past reports, including the 2024 Q4 Quarterly Analytics Report, visit the Transparency section on Submit. If there’s specific data you’d like to see in future reports, let us know in the Submit Development group.
With the launch of the Everyone Feed and our first steps into feed filtering (trending tags), we’ve gained valuable insights into how our feed service handles increased activity and how you engage with content. This data has been instrumental in designing Feed 3.0, the next major iteration of our feed system—one that’s built from the ground up to be more powerful, flexible, and tailored to your needs.
Feed 3.0 isn’t just an update—it’s a complete re-architecture of one of the most essential services on Submit. This overhaul brings major improvements, including:
The Feed 3.0 Preview will be rolling out in the coming week, giving users the opportunity to opt in and experience the first phase of this new system. The preview release will initially contain only a small portion of the features, but we’ll be updating it weekly with new functionality for testing and feedback. This iterative approach will allow us to refine the experience based on real-world usage, ensuring that by the time Feed 3.0 is ready for full release, it meets the needs of our community.
For a much more in-depth technical breakdown of Feed 3.0 and our vision for its future, check out this detailed post. And as always, we’d love to hear your thoughts—join the conversation in the Submit Development group to share feedback and suggestions!
Earlier today, we launched Polls, a brand-new feature that lets you ask questions, gather opinions, and start discussions across Submit. Whether you’re looking for feedback, sparking conversations, or just having fun, Polls provide an easy way to interact with the community.
With this first release, Polls include:
This is just the beginning! We’ve designed Polls to be flexible and will soon be expanding their use beyond status updates, including support for group posts and other types of content. In the future, we’re also exploring features like time-limited polls and additional customization options.
Try out Polls today, and let us know what you think in the Submit Development group!
At Submit, we’re committed to ensuring a seamless, secure, and user-friendly experience. That’s why we roll out continuous updates on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. We’re always working to refine and perfect the platform based on your feedback and the evolving needs of our community.
